After the demise of Dodgeball it should come as no surprise that Google came out with an almost identical concept. Instead of using SMS they went straight to GPS and smartphones. What an obvious way to promote Android! But sarcasm aside, it’s nice to see some movement in this sector despite the awkwardness in the demo video (your mom can track you on her GMaps? really? kinda-creepy). I can’t wait to see this hit the iPhone and non Android, Blackberry platforms for some growth.
This isn’t the ideal solution to see friends in realtime but it’s a start.
